White wine from Piedmont (Piemonte) Italy

Perhaps more famous for its reds Piedmont has nonetheless some excellent white wines. Here we bring you a small selection from our favourite single vineyard boutique producers. From the fruity dry Cortese (also know as Gavi) to the complex "next big thing" - Roero Arneis take your pick - you will not be disappointed.

Unsure about what to chose? Check out our tasting notes for more on each wine (click the name of the wine to go to individual tasting notes).

Cortese

Cortese Alto Monferrato DOC 2008, (still). Our best selling white, this is a crisp fresh and fruity native of Piedmont. You may have tasted Cortese before under the name of "Gavi" - this is the same great taste from the famed Nizza Monferrato zone. Great with light and white food and by itself.

SOLD OUT Note min order is 12 bottles of any combination of 6 bottles

Winemaker - ROBERTO URSCHELER

Prod.80x80

Roero Arneis DOCG 2009 , The "next big thing" in white wine according to the leading wine commentators we chose this one as it is one of our personal favourites. Subtle and hidden depths of fruit and a great aftertaste make this a great white wine to enjoy with those special meals.

£SOLD OUT (£71.94 per 6 bottle case) Winemaker - M&C COSSETTI

Cortese

Cortese DOC 2008 Il Mosso, (frizzante) In its still variant this is our best selling white - the slightly sparkling version is very popular in Italy and is great for a summers day or aperitif. This is a crisp fresh and fruity native of Piedmont. You may have tasted Cortese before under the name of "Gavi" - this is the same great taste from the famed Nizza Monferrato zone.

SOLD OUT Note min order is 12 bottles of any combination of 6 bottles

Winemaker - ROBERTO URSCHELER

Moscato d'Asti DOCG Moscato d'Asti DOCG (frizzante). Made with grapes sourced from the Blades vineyards this is an outstanding example of this light, fruit filled speciality of the Asti zone. 5.5 percent alcohol and sweet on the tongue this is great as an aperitif (think summer weddings) or with desert or the always wonderful ameritti biscuits. Best drunk young for that real moscato grape fruit bomb of flavours.
